Just thought is it kind of rare and I would share it. Scopes using a letter as a suffix (the end of the serial number) have been produced after 1992. Scopes using a letter as a prefix (the beginning of the serial number) were produced between 19. ![]() ![]() I thought I would post pictures of my M84 scope that I recently purchased, it has a Raritan Arsenal Inspection/Repair tag dated 7-1955 with the scope SN 9789,Inspector name and Rifle it was attached to SN 866870. When was my scope manufactured Every Leupold scope produced since 1974 will have a letter included in the serial number acting as a date-code. Below is the post and pictures from the CMP forums. Just joined the forum and I was reading the old threads, I have a M 84 that I purchased for my CMP M1D it is a early SN with a Raritan Arsenal tag dated 7/23/55 with the rifle SN it was mounted at the time of the inspection /repair. ![]()
